OnePlus rumoured to skip OnePlus 5T, may launch OnePlus 6 early next year

OnePlus in June last year launched the OnePlus 3 and later in December launched its OnePlus 3 with a slightly better processor and an improved front-facing camera. This year in June the firm launched its OnePlus 5 but OnePlus fans may not see the OnePlus 5T coming out later this year, or ever.
A report coming from Android Marvel says that OnePlus won’t be launching the OnePlus 5T smartphone. The reason given for this is that since last year launched the OnePlus 3T with an improved processor and better front-facing camera, this year the firm has nothing new to offer.
The OnePlus 5 already runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which has no successor in sight for now. It sports dual rear cameras and comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. This leaves OnePlus with no reason to launch an upgraded version of the OnePlus 5, says Android Marvel.
On the other hand, it has been mentioned that OnePlus 6 could be arriving earlier next year. The report says that the handset will sport an all-screen display with lesser bezels on the sides. Minimal bezels on top and bottom could force the Chinese tech firm to move the fingerprint sensor at the back.
Citing some ‘previous rumours’, the report adds the handset is expected to feature a 6-inch QHD display along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. 6GB or 8GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB storage options will be retained from the current model.
There is no confirmation about any of the aforementioned information by OnePlus so we suggest taking it with a pinch of salt.
Talking about OnePlus launches, the company last month collaborated with the French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac to launch a limited edition variant of its flagship smartphone OnePlus 5.
The special edition smartphone is called OnePlus 5 JCC+. The handset comes as a part of the company’s ‘Callection’ designer range.
