OnePlus India has teased the launch of its upcoming OnePlus X smartphone in the country with a Facebook post that says “See you on October 29, India.”
The teaser is accompanied by an image of a large ‘X,’ which adds credence to the rumoured name OnePlus X.
The official teaser comes soon after Amazon India listed on its website a smartphone named OnePlus Mini, likely to be OnePlus X with a different name. The page has since been taken down by Amazon India.
According to screenshots posted by bloggers, OnePlus X/Mini will have a 5-inch Full HD screen with Gorilla Glass 3 and a metal frame around the body. The smartphone is powered by the Mediatek Helio X10 processor with 2GB RAM, runs on Oxygen 3.0 operating system and packs a 2,450mAh battery.
Interestingly, OnePlus has also used the ClearForce touch technology in the smartphone, which is similar to the Force Touch in Huawei’s Mate S and 3D Touch in Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. The Amazon screenshot also says the phone will have Side Touch functionality; Xiaomi Mi 4c has the same technology, which allows users to perform tasks and open apps from the side of the smartphone.
Previous leaks have suggested that the smartphone will have a 13MP camera on the back and an 8MP camera in front. It is also said to have NFC, which is missing in OnePlus 2.
The OnePlus X smartphone was expected to be unveiled in the country on October 12 when the company’s CEO Peter Lau visited the country to announce its plans for manufacturing handsets in India.
