Oppo, after launching its Mirror 5s smartphone in Taiwan earlier this month, has now launched the Oppo Mirror 5 by listing it on the company website. The smartphone, like the Mirror 5s, features a diamond-inspired multi-faceted rear panel surface. The handset appears to be the global version of Mirror 5s as it features exactly the same set of specifications apart from the display resolution. The handset is set to arrive in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Mexico, and the Middle East-North Africa region. The price of the Mirror 5 is yet to be disclosed.

The Oppo Mirror 5 features 4G LTE connectivity, and is supported by both SIMs card slots. The dual-SIM based smartphone supports one Micro-SIM card and the other Nano-SIM. The smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Color OS 2.1.

The Mirror 5 features a 5-inch (540×960 pixels) qHD TFT display instead of HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution in Mirror 5s. The company stresses that the handset supports gloved and wet touch input. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor that’s coupled with an Adreno 306 GPU, and 2GB of RAM. The Oppo Mirror 5 comes with 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB).

It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash, while housing a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It features scene detection, Panaroma, geo-tagging, double exposure, smile shot, and HDR options.

Connectivity options on the Oppo Mirror 5, apart from LTE, include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio. It is backed by a 2420mAh non-removable battery and will be available in White and Blue colour. It features ambient light sensor, g-sensor, and magnetometer. The smartphone measures 143.4×71.2×7.65mm and weighs 160 grams.

The handset comes preloaded with Smart Remote Control app that the company claims is compatible with common household appliances.
