Oppo R5, the company’s latest launch in their R series, has been made available across retail stores in India now. Pre-orders for the Oppo smartphone started from 1 January and now it’s available for purchase at Rs 29,990.
This is the slimmest ever smartphone by Oppo, which is just 4.85mm thick. Oppo R5 features 13.21-cm (5.2-inch) display with 1080 pixels resolutions and full HD AMOLED qualities. The AMOLED feature takes the pixel density to 423ppi and with punchy colours and bright screen, the display quality is very good.
Like other Chinese brands, a customised version of Android is used in this device too with lots of themes. It’s powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and 2GB RAM. Oppo R5 runs on Colour OS 2.0, which is a forked version of Android 4.4 KitKat. It supports VOOC rapid charging technology, which is claimed to be able to charge a phone up to 75 per cent in just thirty minutes.
Oppo R5 also bundles a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Its UI is neat and clean and navigation across the device is pretty simple too. The “Cool Element” ensures the device never heats up. The smartphone’s gold version will also be available soon, but at a higher price.
