Oppo To Set up Of Its Own Manufacturing Plant In India
Oppo, a Chinese Smartphone maker made an announcement that it will be investing Rs 100 crore for the set up of its own manufacturing plant in India. The setting up of the plant will commence from August 2016. The announcement was made by Oppo’s Global VP and President, Sky Li at the launch event of F1 and F1 Plus selfie phones.
He also stated that Oppo already has begun its handset production from Foxconn’s plant. Ski Li said “We expect to grow our business volume significantly. We have sold 40 million handsets in China so far and expect India business to grow similarly. Oppo is looking at producing 10 million handset units per year in India at our own plant. We will continue our relationship with Foxconn as well.”
The VP also stated that they are planning to grow their business volume in a significant manner. They have already sold 40 million handsets in China and are hopeful that the India business will reflect similar growth potential. They will be producing 10 million handsets per unit each year from their plant in India. They will also be continuing their relationship with Foxconn.
