Oxigen Services India Pvt. Ltd, India’s largest payments solutions provider has become the proud sponsors of Andro Mahila Mandal Association FC (AMFC) in a bid to provide support and encourage young talented women of the North Eastern state to take up soccer and participate at the national level.
A camp of 3 days was organized at Andro from 14th to 16th November 2015 and was attended by more than 600 young girls from 10 schools in and around Imphal including Lillasing Khongnangkhong, primary School, Thangmeiband, Lillasing Khongnangkhong High School, Thangmeiband, St. Pattrick School, Thangmeiband DM College gate, Reliance school, Srivan high school.
Stories of budding young talent erupt now and then, but most of the dreams perish due to lack of a proper platform to nurture talent and limited financial support. AMMA FC has been around since 1993 nurturing talent among young women of Manipur and encouraging them to take up this beautiful sport-Soccer. Oxigen Services has richly associated itself with sport-recently Oxigen has sponsored The Proteas, for the T20 International cricket series, Kerala Blasters and is also one of the sponsors of the star studded Cricket All Stars Series. One of the reason for Oxigen’s association with sporting events is it can connect with the youth of the country.
Oxigen has also in the past sponsored the International One Day Cricket series for the disabled between India and Sri Lanka. With the sponsorship of AMFC, Oxigen’s commitment towards encouraging the youth to participate in sports continue.
The primary issue plaguing the sporting environment and hampering the growth of a thriving sporting culture is the lack of a proper platform for talent development and the severe crunch of availability of sporting gears experienced by budding players. Oxigen aims to address this issue through this association with AMFC.
Mr. Pramod Saxena, Chairman and Managing Director, Oxigen Services commented on the event of association, “There is no dearth of talent in our country. I believe it is our collective responsibility, as a society, to nurture and develop talents. Apart from all pervasive cricket, soccer and other sports also needs to be promoted. We, at Oxigen, are proud to be a sponsor for AMFC, which has been doing a wonderful job of nurturing women soccer players. This association is all the more special as Oxigen, as an organization supports women progressing in all arenas, including soccer”.
