Panasonic introduces ‘Arbo’ – an Artificial Intelligence based assistant

Launches the first line-up Eluga Ray Max and Eluga Ray X available exclusively on Flipkart

In its effort to stay committed towards simplifying technology, Panasonic India Pvt.Ltd a leader in innovation today forayed into the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with its in-house developed virtual assistance ‘Arbo’. Arbo – the virtual buddy with AI, is derived from Esperanto. Arbo which means – a framework that supports climbing plants .Equipped with Arbo, Panasonic unveiled two new smartphones Eluga Ray Max and Eluga Ray X available exclusively on Flipkart priced at Rs. 11,499 (32GB), Rs.12,499 (64GB) and Rs. 8,999 respectively.

The smartphones were today launched in the capital in the presence of Mr. Manish Sharma, President and CEO, Panasonic India and South Asia, Mr. Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India, and Mr. Ajay Yadav, Vice President – Smartphones BU, Flipkart.

The Virtual assistant is a self-learning technology that understands the user behaviour and then maps their daily activities for them accordingly. With its ‘location identification’ feature it recognizes the places often visited by the user and sends out prompt responses asking them to make changes to their phone settings. The AI powered assistant takes care of all the daily tasks and activities like calls and messages that need to be framed and sent out on a regular basis. It also keeps a detailed list of all the applications functioning on the smartphone, gathers detailed information on their habits and informs them about it accordingly.

The Eluga Ray Max weighs a mere 165 gms and sports a 16 MP rear camera with professional mode and an 8 MP front camera with a selfie flash, a feature which enables the user to take perfect selfies even in the darkest spots. The Eluga Ray Max is powered by 1.4GHz 64bit Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor paired with 4GB RAM and comes with 64GB and 32GB internal memory variants that can be expanded up to 128GB. It is also equipped with a Front Finger Print Sensor in collaboration with ‘Android for work’ which provides the smartphone with an impenetrable security that can be surpassed only by the designated user.

The Eluga Ray Max and Eluga Ray X runs on an Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) platform, featuring a metal unibody along with USB 2.0 with OTG support, Ambient Light sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and houses a battery capacity of 3000mAh with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and 4000mAh respectively. The 4G and VOLTE enabled smartphones – Eluga Ray Max and Eluga Ray X with premium look comes with 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch IPS LCD Screen respectively and will be available in Gold and Space grey colour,
