Panasonic Intros Its 1st Commerical OLED TV TX-65CZ950
Amid phone and phablet launches, Japanese tech firm Panasonic has recently introduced its first commercial OLED TV at the IFA 2015. Touted to be the world’s best television, TX-65CZ950 would be available in 165.1 cm (65-inch) display by the end of next of month. Sporting a curved panel, the Panasonic product happens to be the first television by the firm with self-emitting pixels.
With 4K ultra high-definition (UHD) resolution, it features 4K Studio Master Processor and THX certification.
Additionally, it comes with Absolute Black Gradation Drive, which “has actually been a challenge for OLED TV makers, since the shift from complete blackness to just above black is a very difficult gradation step to render”, according to Panasonic.
According to popular colorist Mike Sowa, “Panasonic has engineered their newest 4K Pro OLED TV to a standard that I would only expect in professional displays. We always translate our colour grade movie on to a reference television, to make sure that we perfectly match what is going on in the cinema. That is where Panasonic stepped in with its new OLED TV. This TV is what I have been looking for. The detail is better than I am used to seeing in the theatrical version. We can now enjoy the visual product in the home as the cinematographer and director intended.”
