Panasonic Unveils A Semi- Rugged Laptop, Toughbook CF-54
Japanese tech firm Panasonic has recently unveiled a semi-rugged laptop. Dubbed as Toughbook CF-54, the product claims to be the thinnest and the lightest in its category. With the thickness of 29.8mm and weigh of 1.99kg, Toughbook CF-54 is almost 50 per cent thinner and 25 per cent lighter than the previous variant CF-53.
This laptop comes with 31.75cm (12.5-inch) touchscreen display. Powered by the new 5th Generation Intel CoreTM i5-5300U vPro processor with 3MB cache, 2.3GHz up to 2.9GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, Toughbook CF-54 comes with 4GB RAM which is expandable upto 16GB. As it comes with a 360-degree hinge, you can easily turn this laptop into a tablet whenever you want.
It has fingerprint reader, optional smart card reader and contactless smart card reader along with options like 2nd LAN, VGA, Serial Port, PC Card and Rugged USB. It has a sunlight viewable screen which makes it easy to use even in broad daylight. However, the laptop’s magnesium alloy chassis is its specialty which makes it shock resistant and hard enough to survive even if it is dropped from a height of up to 76cm.
