Parler Gets Backing from Mercer Family

The wall journal has reported that the social media platform Parler which is known for its free speech-driven space, gets funding from Robert Mercer and his daughter and a conservative activist. United States right-wing social media users have gathered to Parler, Telegram, and Gab, citing the more hostile policing of political comments on most-followed platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

The CEO of Parler has said that he founded the firm in the year 2018 as a bipartisan platform but has doubled down on marketing to conservatives as they took to the website. Those who have joined which contains Candace Owens, former 45th President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and Laura Loomer who is a right-wing activist.

The conservative activist has said that she and the CEO began Parler to offer a neutral platform for free speech, as their founders envisioned, and further to make a social media environment that will possibly protect data privacy and also the ever-increasing oppression and hubris of their tech overlords demand that someone started the fight against data mining, and for the protection of free speech online.

Parler’s user base saw a huge growth in under a week, making it tough for its roughly 30-people staff to keep up with the latest sign-ups, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
