Quantum Corp. announced that Quantum’s DXi deduplication and backup products recently received annual awards from two technology industry leaders. The new DXi6800 appliance won the Initiative Mittelstand Innovation IT Award 2013 at the CeBIT trade show, and the DXi6701/02 appliance won the Network Computing 2013 Product of the Year Award in the Storage Product category. Introduced in January, the DXi6800 combines industry-leading performance, scalability and efficiency with “pay-as-you-grow” extensibility for better overall value than any competitive offering. It delivers up to 16 TB/hour performance – four times that of the market leader. The DXi6800 combines Quantum’s patented variable-length data deduplication technology with the StorNext high-performance file system to deliver this best-in-class performance and efficiency. The DXi6800 also offers 13-156 TB of usable capacity in a single system – three times more scalability than the market leader while requiring just half the power and data center floor space.
The DXi6701/02 has been widely adopted around the world and has proven popular with customers that don’t want to make trade-offs in terms of features, performance and price when choosing a deduplication solution.
“We appreciate the recognition our DXi products continue to receive from the storage community,” noted Robert Clark, senior vice president, Data Protection Group, Quantum. “The DXi-Series has been embraced as the backup and deduplication cornerstone for an expansive range of environments, and the DXi6800 and DXi6701/02 exemplify Quantum’s leadership in providing best-in-class technology, solutions and value for meeting customers’ data protection needs.”
