Reliance has finally rolled out its new instant messaging application ‘Jio Chat’ for Android and iOS platforms. With th help of this messaging app can send files up to 100 MB and also users can have group voice and video calls.
Built on the lines of popular messaging apps like WhatsApp, Line, Hike and WeChat, Jio Chat comes in with features like sending messages, video chat, voice calls, sending stickers, audio notes and emoticons. The app also supports location and status sharing features.
Also, it has been known that the Jio Chat app allows users to stay updated with the latest news and stories about their favourite brands, celebrities, etc.
One interesting feature we can find in the Jio Chat is that users can now store in the typed messages while they are offline and send as soon as the recipient or user comes online.
The Jio Chat users are also believed to be able to send and receive MS Excel and MS Word files too, besides texts, images, videos and voice.
It surely looks like the Indian Telecom giant has taken it serious to face off with WhatsApp and WeChat and provide users with best possible features.
However, we are still not sure how well the app would play in the current market trends and ever growing competition. Yet, in just a week’s time, according the the Play Store, the app has been installed etween 1 lakh to 5 lakh times which seems to be pretty perfect for a beginner.
