Reliance Jio, Airtel announce cashback offer on smartphones: Comparison

First came the calling benefits. Then it was the data frenzy and now it seems like it’s time for cashback offers. Telecom operators are leaving no stone unturned to catch the fancy of customers. Just a few days after Reliance Jio announced a cashback offer, Airtel too has followed suit with a cashback offer on a few handsets. Here are how the two cash backs compare:

Airtel:
For its prepaid customers, Airtel is offering a cashback of Rs 2,000 on two budget smartphones from Nokia and one from Karbon. The company is offering this cashback on Karbon Titanium Jumbo 2, Nokia 2 and Nokia 3 handsets. Users will need to recharge the SIM with a minimum amount of Rs. 3,500 for the first 18 months, post which they will receive a credit of Rs 500 in the form of cashback. After a period of another 18 months, users will get the remaining promised Rs 1,500 on the devices.

Reliance Jio:
For its prepaid users, Reliance Jio has launched the ‘Jio Football Offer’ that comes with a cashback of Rs 2,200 on as many as 22 smartphone brands. Users will need to recharge the SIM with minimum of Rs 198/Rs 299 on or before 31st March, 2018.

They will receive this cashback of Rs 2,200 in maximum 44 cash back vouchers of Rs 50 each can be redeemed by the eligible subscriber on or before 31st May, 2022. After the first recharge, 44 vouchers of Rs 50 each will be credited in My Jio app. These can using the My Jio app, one recharge at a time for each recharge, against subsequent recharges of Rs 198/299.

The list of brands includes: Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Micromax, Huawei, Nokia, 10. or, Blackberry, Asus, Panasonic, LG, Intex, Alcatel, Comio, Swipe, Zen, Ziox, Celkon, iVOOMi, Lyf and Centric. Following is the list of brands and the handsets on which the cashback of offer is available:

Samsung: Galaxy On 8, On 5 Pro, On 7 Pro, On Max, On Nxt and J3 2016.

Xiaomi: Mi Max 2, Mi Mix 2, Mi A1, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite and Redmi 4.

Moto: Moto C+, Moto E4+, Lenovo K8+, Moto G5S, Moto G5S+ and Moto Z2 Play.
