Reliance Jio reportedly seems set to launch the second edition to its Wi-Fi dongle. A video on YouTube shows the unboxing of the company’s Jio Dongle 2, as it is likely to be called.
Reliance Jio Dongle 2 is the successor to Jio Dongle and is said to be priced at Rs 1,999. The device can be purchased from Reliance Digital store. However, as per the video, the device would sport a price tag of Rs 3,119.
The 5-minute video also shows Jio Dongle 2 to coming in with a mobile router, USB adapter, quick starting guide, and a warranty card valid for a year (for the device and 6 months for accessories).
The device can apparently let users create their own hotspot, connect up to 10 devices via WiFi, supports Jio Voice, and can work with other Reliance Jio digital services. Along with a SIM card slot, there are two LED indicators to show which of the two connections – SIM or WiFi – are active.
Ironically, the company is yet to officially reveal any detail about Jio Dongle 2. However, since this YouTube user claims to have got the device from a Reliance Digital Store, it can be assumed that there will be an official announcement following soon.
Earlier this month, Reliance unveiled its JioFi portable Wi-Fi hotspot. Priced at Rs 1,999, the device comes free with the Jio welcome offer and is valid till December 31, 2016.
Like the Jio Dongle 2, JioFi hotspot can also support up to 10 Wi-Fi-enabled devices. It has an OLED display that provides information about network strength, power, Wi-Fi status, and more. The device lets multiple users access Jio 4G internet and create personal Wi-Fi hotspots. HD voice calls, video calls, and messaging via Jio4GVoice app are also supported. It is backed by a 2,300mAh battery with which the company claims to deliver upto 6 hours usability.
