Reliance Jio Phone Pre-booking: Big confusion as ‘pre-book’ option missing in My Jio app
As expected, with Reliance JioPhone available for pre-booking, the JioPhone website is loading slowly and in most cases showing an error message to users. While website is one of the ways from where you can prebook the device, another way is by using the My Jio app. However, it has been found that there is no option to buy the device from the app yet. It is worth adding that Reliance Jio confirmed that users could book the Jio Phone using the My Jio app, in a Youtube video. Users would have to download the app and tap on the ‘Prebook’ option at the top, insert their Jio phone number and the delivery destination where the handset is to be shipped and pay using their debit /credit cards or digital wallets. We got in touch with the Reliance spokesperson and were told that the servers have crashed for the website and that’s why users are not able to log in. It is worth adding that users also have the option to book their Jio Phones from all the authorised and multi brand stores. The customers will have to pay a sum of Rs 500 at the time of pre-booking, while the remaining Rs 1,000 has to be paid at the time of the delivery of the Jio Phone. Reliance Jio has also said that the device will be given on first-come-first served basis. The company aims to gradually increase the shipments and have 5 million Jio Phones available at retail stores every week. Deliveries for Jio Phone are expected to start between September 1 to September 4. Some of the key features of the handset are KAI OS, 2.4-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels) display, 512MB RAM, 2MP rear camera, front-facing 0.3MP camera, 4GB inbuilt space with support for microSD card (128GB) and 2000mAh Li-Po battery.
