Serendib Engineering appointed as partner to manage the sale of ‘s products in Sri Lanka
Swiss cabling specialist R&M, with a strong presence in more than 30 countries worldwide, has announced the launch of its operations in Sri Lanka. The company plans to tap the Sri Lankan market to further strengthen its footprint in fiber and copper solutions. Mr Gaurav Ahluwalia and Mr Shailendra Trivedi were present at the launch event.
As a first step in expansion, R&M has appointed Serendib Engineering as a partner to manage the sale of its products across the Sri Lankan market. The company will focus on the telecom and IT/ITeS sectors to start with, but it plans to slowly expand to other industry verticals as well.
Mr Gaurav Ahluwalia, Managing Director at R&M India said, “Enterprises across all verticals are looking for more flexibility and scalability in networks. The rising need for high speed connectivity and data storage also means data centers and networks have to provide greater capacity. With R&M’s copper and fiber optic systems for high-quality communication networks and forward-looking system design, we can ensure greater reliability for our customers.”

The market is expected to continue to grow from $6.24 billion in 2013 to $8.3 billion in 2020. By establishing a direct presence in Sri Lanka, R&M hopes to firm up its position in the structured cabling market of Sri Lanka.
