Routofy Launches Its Application…Also Introduces Its Booking Platform
Routofy, a route-planning portal that allows users to know ‘how to reach’ any destination across India, is pleased to announce the launch of its application for Android platform. The app allows Users to avail its new feature of making instant multi-modal travel bookings. Incorporated with the existing route discovery services, this will enable customers to plan and book a door-to-door journey from the same umbrella, all in a single transaction.
Unlike other Online Travel Agencies (OTA), Routofy doesn’t stop once you make a booking. It accompanies travellers on their journey through its unique travel assistance, which includes facilities such as last-minute cab bookings, web check-in, delay alerts, and so on, giving customers an experience that has not been offered before.
Corporate travellers will be a key customer base and special features have been introduced to cater to these, including compliance assurance of company’s travel policy, 24×7 hotline for instant response, data-based travel insights to promote savings, etc.
The current players in the market follow the tried-and-tested model of having separate tabs for different modes, where the user is left to coordinate and make separate bookings for each of these. Also, these either provide airport-to-airport or just station-to-station transport. Routofy is simplifying and solving this problem. For example, a user can now book his entire trip from Cyber Hub, Gurgaon to Amul Dairy, Anand in one go; furthermore, Routofy ensures that if your flight is running late, a subsequent cab booking is adjusted to meet you at the new arrival time. Every search on their platform analyses 2,50,000 results in a fraction of a second, and lets the traveller compare different routes, duration and price of all direct/indirect ways leading to their desired destination.
Routofy is implementing a business model that has begun to generate profits from Day 1. Since the launch of their app, the platform has already clocked a total sale of 500K INR. Speaking about the launch, Co-founder & CEO of Routofy, Ronak Gupta says, “We truly believe that for every complex problem in this world, there exists an extremely elegant solution. We still haven’t realised the true power of technology to find that elegant solution for travel planning. Routofy is an attempt in that direction. After reaching 1 million hits on the website last year, we are now launching our app after realizing that making multiple bookings on a mobile is even more painful and time-consuming. We are expecting about 30,000-40,000 downloads of our app in the first quarter. The next step in our expansion will be the launch of train bookings and the iOS version of the app.” Routofy has introduced an innovative referral programme, wherein the referrer gets lifetime discounts for spreading the word about the new app.
Last year, Routofy raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Snapdeal’s founders, Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal. Presently, the team comprises of several IIT alumni who have worked in some major companies such as Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, etc
