Samsung Confirms Gear S2 Smartwatch Launch in September
Besides launching Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 at their Galaxy Unpacked event for 2015, tech giant Samsung had one more surprise in store for tech-enthusiasts. Yes, we are talking about its circular Smart Watch – Samsung Gear S2, which would see the light of the day in September. Now that we have just one month for the launch of watch, let’s have a look at its interesting features and specifications.
If the reports are to be believed, Gear 2 features a circular dial with Tizen operating system. As per a report published on Droid-Life, the watch would be compatible only with Samsung devices.
While previously the device was called Samsung Gear A, it’s now been given the name Samsung Gear S2, which speculates resemblance to its predecessor, Samsung Gear S.
If we recall, Samsung Gear S featured a super curved display with a resolution of 360 x 480 pixels, pedestrian navigation, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity. Powered by a dual-core 1 GHz processor and backed by 300mAh battery, it came with 512MB RAM and 4GB in-built storage.
However, more precise information about the much-anticipated Gear S2 is expected at the pre-IFA event which is to be held in Berlin on September 3.
While Gear S was probably the first major smartwatch to hit the mass market, expectations are higher this time for Samsung Gear S2.
