Samsung hasn’t spoken a word on the 2018’s Galaxy A series but some of the previous leaks and rumours have. And a new hands-on video supposedly showing the Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) has left nothing to imagination. The video not only shows the unannounced smartphone from all the possible angles, but also reveals its specifications.
As mentioned before in several reports, the Galaxy A8+ (2018) is seen with Samsung’s ‘Infinity Display’ tech like what we’ve seen with the Galaxy S8, S8+ and the Note 8. Interestingly, the smartphone is not seen with a dedicated button to fire Bixby AI.
If the video is anything to go by, users will see a new placement of the fingerprint scanner at the back. The smartphone is seen with a single rear camera below which is the fingerprint sensor. Until now we saw the sensor being placed besides the rear cameras, with the Galaxy S and Note series. The particular position of the fingerprint sensor got some criticism over the web as accessing it led to smudges on the camera lens. As for the specifications, the smartphone is said to sport a 6-inch Super AMOLED full HD+ (2220×1080 pixels) along with a 16MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). There are two front-facing cameras with 16MP and 8MP sensors.
Powering the device is a 2.2GHz octa-core Exynos 7885 processor along with 6GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. The smartphone is also said to support a microSD card. It will be backed by a 3500mAh battery. Also mentioned is that the handset will be made available in select markets by the end of this month at around $600, which is roughly Rs 38,600.
It is worth adding that by including an extended display tech to the Galaxy A series along with dual rear cameras, will likely make Samsung place them closer to the flagship ‘S’ series in terms of price.
