As the first Apple watch is on its way to reach customers from today (24 April), tech-buffs are eagerly waiting to get their much anticipated product. According to the latest reports, Apple is expected to ship at least 20 million Apple Watches this year. While, Apple had previously announced that the much-anticipated watch would not be available in stores, selected fashion boutiques around the world do have their own stock. If all goes well, the watches will be available for sale at the end of the week.
Being a fashion accessory as well as a smart device, Apple Watch could be defined as a unique blend of fashion and technology. It comes in three styles with an array of changeable strap options. Since the day it was announced, people have been desperately waiting for the release of the Cupertino-based firm’s first wearable device. Interestingly, the Watch connects with a user’s iPhone and communicates as well as track health and fitness statistics including movement and heart rate.
Tim Cook, CEO, Apple had shared the stage with model Christy Turlington Burns and Apple engineers during the launch of the much-anticipated watch.
However, if we compare it with the iPhone, which sold 74.5 million units in the fourth quarter alone, initial estimated sales of the watch are expected to be low. While it starts at $349, the standard model of the watch costs $549.
