Site24x7 Launches Mobile APM Beta

Site24x7, the cloud infrastructure monitoring service, today announced the launch of Mobile Application Performance Management (APM) beta, a BW_CMYK_logo_press-readynew feature that helps mobile developers proactively manage their mobile apps. Mobile APM provides complete visibility into mobile application behavior and helps resolve performance issues that affect end-user experience. Android apps are supported immediately, and iOS app support is coming in Q2 2015. Site24x7’s Mobile APM beta includes Real User Monitoring (RUM), which helps developers analyze their applications’ performance by monitoring end-user experience in real time. Site24x7 will be demonstrating Mobile APM in Hall 5, Stand 5K21 at Mobile World Congress, being held March 2-5, 2015, at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain.

To provide a seamless experience for mobile end users, developers need data on application response time and the type of operating system, browser or device being used. Site24x7’s cloud-based Mobile APM provides usage metrics as well as graphical representations of end-user response time and throughput globally. This information helps developers understand how their mobile apps behave when accessed from different countries. Statistics related to carrier performance are also captured by the tool. Individual transactions are monitored by response time and throughput to enable developers to analyze the responsiveness of the mobile app.

Site24x7 delivers a new-age approach to Mobile APM and tracks user experience from the application through its supporting back-end services. RUM and Site24x7 APM Insight are important keys in understanding the mobile app user experience across the entire DevOps application life cycle. The Site24x7 APM Insight capability supports Mobile APM and gives visibility to the back end that serves the APIs for the mobile apps, thus helping identify and troubleshoot performance issues no matter where they originate.

“With the new Site24x7 Mobile APM capabilities, our application performance monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities now cover the full data path from server back end to end-user devices consisting of desktop browsers and native mobile apps,” said Gibu Mathew, Director of Product Management, Site24x7.

Pricing and Availability

The Site24x7 Mobile APM feature (Android support) is available immediately for beta testing and comes as a standard feature with the Site24x7 Business pack starting at $39 per month. Support for iOS apps will be added in Q2 2015.
