Slack’s AI feature for summarizing channels and threads will begin testing during the upcoming winter

Slack is introducing an integrated AI tool, Slack AI, that will provide features such as channel recaps, thread summaries, and search functionality to help users better manage and navigate their conversations. Channel recaps will automatically generate summaries of channel messages, aiding users in catching up on important discussions. Slack AI will also enable users to search for answers by asking questions related to their messages, files, and channels, with the tool generating a summary and linking to the relevant conversation.

In addition to Slack AI, the platform will begin testing Slack lists, a project tracking feature, allowing users to monitor team projects, assignments, and progress within Slack. Notifications for list changes and dedicated threads for specific tasks will be included. Slack is also introducing a new Workflow Builder designed to simplify the integration of third-party apps.

Slack has been gradually introducing AI-driven features, including ChatGPT for quick message drafting and an AI tool for summarizing Huddles (audio-only meetings).
