While all social media platforms are busy rolling out their own versions of Snapchat’s popular ‘Stories’ feature, the app is planning a new functionality for ‘Stories’.
Snapchat will be soon rolling out ‘Custom Stories’ on its platform. These ‘Stories’ will only be view able by a specific set of users’ friends and not everyone. You can also send your friends an invite to add Snaps to the Story. In addition, there’s an option of sending this invite to friends of friends in a particular area by using custom geofence option.
Much like regular ‘Stories,’ ‘Custom Stories’ would disappear after 24 hours. However, they can stay longer provided someone adds new content to them.
Furthermore, personalized emoji tool Bitmoji will soon be available on Snapchat too. For those who don’t know, Bitmoji is an app owned by Snap Inc (Snapchat’s parent company) that lets users create customized cartoon avatars of themselves. Users can change the expressions of their avatars via the app settings.
To integrate Bitmoji and Snapchat, it is mandatory to have an account on both apps and link them. Once done, Bitmoji will appear inside the Snapcode in the app.
Both of these features are expected to be available on Snapchat’s Android and iOS apps soon.
Earlier this month, it was announced that users will soon be able to view Snaps for as long as they want to, provided the sender has enabled the option. Senders will be able to do this by selecting the infinity icon on the Snap photo timer. However, these Snaps would still disappear when the recipient closes it.
The same report also added that with Snapchat’s next update, users will be able to make their Snapchat videos loop endlessly, draw with emojis and use a ‘magic eraser’ to remove objects from their Snaps.
