Snapdeal is planning to launch three new development centres at Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad.
ITVoice News: India’s largest e-commerce platform Snapdeal announced that it will hire 1,000 software engineers and establish at least three new development centres in the country in its efforts to make online shopping even more easier for its customers. It has planned to add fresh engineering talent into the pool to support building proprietary disruptive technologies.
Snapdeal has a user base of 25 million and seller base of almost 50,000, which is expected to increase even further in next six months. It claims to have reached a run rate of $2 billion in annualised sales.
The digital marketplace is planning to hire 400 engineers in Bangalore. It would be considered as its second development centre. Snapdeal has its first development centre in NCR with development team of 300 people; it will open in another 45 days. Snapdeal is also considering other cities like Pune and Hyderabad to set up its development centres.
Rohit Bansal, co-founder and COO of Snapdeal mentioned that the development centres would look after the key areas, involving supply chain, consumer and supplier facing technologies, big data, and mobile. The company would consider most of its hiring from engineering colleges like IITs and NITs and would even hire engineers with 3 to 20 years of experience.
