Sony launches new SD card series, price starts at Rs 6,700
Sony has launched its new SF-G line-up of SD storage cards. Aimed at professional photographers, the company claims that the new SD cards are the world’s fastest. The new SD cards come with write speeds of up to 299 MB/s. These help digital cameras (UHS-II supported) achieve better performance, by allowing continuous shooting of high-resolution images. Along with this, the new SD cards feature read speeds of up to 300MB/s and claim to efficiently transfer large file sizes very quickly. Sony SF-G series SD cards support recording 4K, 2K and Full HD videos, and are compatible with XAVC-S codec. They also include the ability to recover accidentally-deleted photos and videos, including RAW images and 4K XAVC-S vides. Along with the SD cards the company has also launched the MRW-S1 card reader with a price tag of Rs 2,300. The SF-G SD card series and MRW-S1 card reader will be available at all Sony Centers and major electronic stores across India. The new SD cards are available in three sizes – 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, priced at Rs 6,700, Rs 11,000 and Rs 19,900 respectively. Last year, Sony launched its range of XQD and SD storage cards. These come in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage capacities. The company claims that the cards are dust proof,X-ray proof, static proof and magnet proof. They come with downloadable file recovery software as well. As for pricing, the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants of the XQD range of cards are priced at Rs 3,500, Rs 6,700 and Rs 14,500 respectively.
