Sony Xperia upcoming phones features & specifications

Sony is prepping up to launch three new mid-ranged Xperia smartphones in the days to come. The phones that Sony is working on currently include — Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2. The smartphone manufacturer may launch the phones — all the three together — either at CES — which is to take place next week or at MWC in Feb. Note that the company is yet to officially confirm the launch date of these devices. Ahead of the launch, some new renders of all the phones together have surfaced online, showing the devices in all its glory.
The upcoming Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra will succeed the last year’s XA1 and XA1 Ultra, while on the other hand, Xperia L2 will replace the L1. The major transition that all three Sony flagships may see is in its hardware department. Reports are that Sony may use Snapdragon processors on its this year’s flagship phones and not MediaTek processors like the earlier Xperia phones. Additionally, Sony has always been critised for not upgrading the design of their phones, and the company may follow the same with its upcoming flagships as well. All the three smartphones — Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2 may not differ — at all — when it comes to the design segment, however, specification-wise the devices may see some major changes compared to its predecessors.
The leaked renders show the upcoming Xperia XA2 will be slightly bigger in size compared to the XA1. Last year’s XA1 comes with a 5.0-inch with 720 x 1280 display, while rumours suggest that the new Xperia XA2 will include a 5.2-inch full HD display with 1080 x 1920 resolution.
Xperia XA2 is further expected to include a 21-megapixel sensor at the rear camera – which will be capable of capturing 4K videos, while on the front, the phone may include a mediocre 8-megapixel camera. On the hardware front, the new Xperia XA2 may be powered by Snapdragon 630 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expandable via microSD card.
Compared to the Xperia XA2, the XA2 Ultra will be much bigger in size. The renders suggest that the smartphone may come with a 6-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. Apart from the display, the upcoming Xperia Xa2 Ultra may see some major changes on the camera department, as renders hint at dual 16-megapixel cameras on the front. The smartphone may be packed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expandable via microSD. On the software front, both Sony Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra are expected to run on Android Oreo.
Coming to the third phone — which is the Xperia L2 — Sony may not include Oreo — instead, the phone may come with Android Nougat. The leaked renders show that the smartphone may come with a 5.2-inch 720p touchscreen, and powered by the same Snapdragon 630 as the other two phones.
