Sony Xperia XZ Pro sans 3.5mm headphone jack spotted in FCC listing

Sony is expected to launch something big on February 26 at MWC 2018 and we are guessing it to be the much-awaited Xperia XZ Pro. The company may launch other products also alongside but the big news of course will be the Xperia XZ Pro. The phone has been in news for quite some time now and there’s a lot that we know already know about it. However, there’s a new report coming that Xperia XZ Pro could ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack.
An FCC filing shows a Sony’s device in charging mode and a single USB Type- C for both charging and connecting headsets. Sony has not introduced any major changes in the design language of the phones since the launch of Xperia Z in 2013. Apart from the dual cameras and 18:9 display, there hasn’t been any other noticeable change that we’ve spotted so far in the Sony phones launched last year. If the FCC filing is for Xperia XZ Pro, then it would be the first Sony device to drop the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.
The ‘say no to headphone jack’ trend was made mainstream by Apple first when it launched the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus with Airpods and no headphone jack. Later many companies like Google, HTC, Motorola and more followed into the footprints of the Apple. Now there are rumours that Samsung also might ditch the headphone jack in its upcoming Galaxy S9. Google Pixel 2, LG G6 and Mi Mix 2 are some of the new launches that comes with no headphone jack.
Coming back to Song, the Xperia XZ Pro is expected to shed bezels. This means that Xperia XZ Pro could be the first Sony phone to come with purely bezel less design. It is also rumoured that Sony may get rid of its old boxy design this time with the Xperia XZ Pro.
It is rumoured that Xperia XZ Pro will sport a 5.7-inch 4K OLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. On the photography front, it is expected to feature a dual camera system on back with one 18MP sensor and another 12MP sensor. On the front, it would come with a 13MP camera. The Xperia XZ Pro will come with IP68 rating and backed by a 3,420 mAh battery.
