Sony Xperia XZ Pro with Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB RAM and more may debut at MWC 2018

Sony, in 2017 became one of the world’s first vendors to launch a smartphone running Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. This might again be the case in 2018 with its recently-leaked Xperia XZ Pro, which is said to sport Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor Snapdragon 845 processor. The smartphone’s name and some other specifications have been leaked online and shared by My Drivers, a Chinese website.
Based on the leak, the Sony Xperia XZ ‘Pro’ is likely to debut the new ‘Pro’ series in the Japanese tech firm’s handset line up. Besides the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the smartphone is said to feature dual rear camera setup, including an 18MP sensor with a pixel size of 1.33um along with a 12MP sensor with 1.38um pixel size. At the front there could be a 13MP shooter.
Sony Xperia XZ Pro is said to feature 6GB RAM, which if true will make the handset first by the company with such massive RAM capacities. Furthermore, what’s mentioned is the inclusion of a 5.7-inch OLED display with 4K resolution, something which is not new for Sony. It already has its Xperia Z5 Premium smartphone sporting 4K display.
Running Android 8.0 Oreo, the Xperia XZ Pro could also boast of a 3,420mAh battery in addition to an IP68-certified build and microSD card slot. The website claims the device to see the light of the day at the upcoming MWC 2018 conference. The expected price of the Xperia XZ Pro is around CNY 6000, which roughly means Rs 60,000.
Sony became one of the first technology companies to launch three smartphones in the first few days of 2018. It launched the Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra and Xperia L2 at CES 2018 conference. The firm has not yet mentioned when it will be launching the smartphone in India. Out of the three, Sony Xperia L2 is the least powerful.
