This feature utilizes generative artificial intelligence (AI), particularly OpenAI’s voice generation technology, to ensure that the translated versions maintain the original speaker’s style.
Spotify aims to offer a more personalized and authentic experience for regional listeners by preserving the host’s voice rather than dubbing episodes.
The tool is currently being tested with podcast hosts such as Bill Simmons, Dax Shepard, Lex Fridman, Monica Padman, and Steven Bartlett, with plans to expand its use for future episodes and even Trevor Noah’s upcoming podcast.
