Suhas Kelkar, CTO for BMC Software in Asia-Pacific, wins prestigious Zinnov Award for Thought Leadership

imagesPune, July 19, 2013 : Suhas Kelkar, BMC Software’s chief technology officer for the Asia-Pacific region, has received the prestigious Zinnov Award, which recognizes IT visionaries around the world whose ideas and initiatives have had an impact on the overall research and development ecosystem.  Kelkar received the award at a special industry event on July 11, 2013.

Kelkar is CTO for the APAC region and leads BMC’s global incubator team.  The Zinnov Award recognizes his leadership in creating a range of novel incubation processes and the framework he put in place at BMC.

Beginning as a “startup within a large organization,” Kelkar’s team has evolved into a true startup creator. Among the team’s more recent achievements is the incubation of a cloud management solution that went on to become a commercial success for BMC.  Kelkar and his team helped create a completely new solution via his industry leading “business incubation” process.

Kelkar’s thought leadership in incubation processes was featured as a case study in the book “8 Steps to Innovation.” He presently has multiple patents pending in the area of cloud computing and IT service management.

This award also recognizes contributions Kelkar made to the local eco system to foster software development best practices. Passionate about product management, he is the founding member of the Pune chapter of India Product Management Association (www.indiapma.org). He is also active in various other organizations such as NASSCOM and SEAP.

There were more than 200 nominations from across India, judged by independent jury organized by Zinnov.  2013 is the third year in a row that BMC India has received a major Zinnov award.
