Swipe Telecom has launched a dual-SIM Android smartphone in the Indian market called the Swipe 9X. The California based telecom prefers to call this Android 4.0 ICS-based smartphone a ‘fablet’.
The Swipe 9X has a 4.7-inch (854×480) capacitive multi-touch display, and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MTK 6577 processor along with 512MB of DDR3 RAM. It has a 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera.
The 9.3mm thick smartphone comes with GPS and A-GPS connectivity along with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, FM radio, Gravity Sensor Range Sensor, and a torchlight. The Swipe 9X also boasts of a 2,000 mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 5 hours of talktime. It weighs a mere 149 grams and offers huge storage capacity of up to 32GB via a microSD Card.
The Swipe 9X is available at Rs. 8,999 along with three free back shells (black, white and blue). At its price, the Swipe 9X competes with similar dual-core offerings from a multitude of manufacturers, and stands of good chance of attracting consumers’ attention with its large display, and other competitive specifications.
The Swipe 9X looks to take on the recently launched Xolo Q700, Intex Aqua Wonder, Quadcore Karbonn S1 Titanium and Karbonn S5 Titanium which are offered at similar price point. The Swipe 9X Fablet seems to be a good choice for tech savvy users of all age groups, business professionals and students for the given price range.
