Tata Docomo has reportedly quietly raised its mobile Internet rates for 2G customers in select regions and the new data rates are now implemented in a phased manner.
According to the report released by the company, the mobile internet rates are raised in Punjab for now.The company, earlier, had offered 1GB 2G data at cost of Rs 126. However, it has now hiked the price to Rs 148. Another plan of Rs 56, which gave 350MB of 2G data usage, had been now reduced to 300MB at the same price.
Before this, telecom operators had increased the mobile Internet rated to up to 100 per cent during June-September across the country. Airtel had hiked its prices up to 33 per cent in October, while Vodafone and Idea had imposed the high rates of mobile internet service in June. Airtel, Vodafone and Idea collectively cater over 57 per cent of the mobile market of the country.
Tata Docomo had recently also announced its unique ‘Create Your Own Number’ scheme under the ‘It’s my life, it’s my number’ campaign. Having this user will be able to choose their own 10 digits number depending upon the availability. Few days back, Tata Docomo telecom service had also partnered with the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) to provide WiFi service at Connaught Place, New Delhi.
