As of present stats, Tata Power has a total power generation capacity of 8613 MW taking into account power generated from various fuel sources.
Major integrated solar player, Tata Power has discovered that the company has generated 45,210 MUs of power taken collectively from all its power plants in the financial year 2014. This is a 24 per cent rise as compared to the previous financial wherein the company’s total generation capacity stood at 34,683 MUs.
As of present stats, Tata Power has a total power generation capacity of 8613 MW taking into account power generated from various fuel sources ranging from thermal (that includes coal, gas and oil), hydroelectric power, renewable energy (wind and solar) to waste heat recovery. “Surpassing the set benchmark of the previous fiscal, Coastal Gujarat Power Limited (CGPL) and Maithon Power Limited (MPL) have contributed substantially to the Company’s increase in generation capacity,” Tata power was quoted as saying in an official statement.
With that said, the company is looking to boost the generation capacity of CGPL and MPL to 18,000 MW and 4,000 MW of distribution respectively by 2022. It boasts of a gross installed capacity of 1,206 MW and a total operating capacity of 461 MW from wind farms and 54 MW in the solar sphere.
