Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services announced the winners of Capgemini’s Tech Challenge 3.0. Team InbuiltMinds comprising Saran Kumar Pantangi, Aditya Sethia, Diptangshu Chakrabarty, Vamsikrishna Patchava and Balaji SR won the Tech Challenge Title for the penultimate challenge called the ‘Digital Shopper.’ The team won INR 2 lakh in the award money. Tech Challenge 3.0 is a unique online hackathon to identify the best technology experts in the country. The challenge this year received an overwhelming response from over 74,000 tech enthusiasts across social media platforms with over 5 lakh page visits and 4.8 million views on the Tech Challenge microsite.
A modern day discerning customer likes to be indulged and engaged through multiple online and offline touchpoints. The price of the product inadvertently happens to be the most influential criteria when making the final decision. Digital Shopper required the participants to create a solution to a complex problem – one that would easily allow a shopper to research multiple categories of the same product, compare price indexes, and identify a cost effective product rather than the cheapest, all of it through a unified solution. It goes without saying that the solution should prompt customers to make the final purchase instead of just gather information. Capgemini put the best techies from the country to the ultimate skill test by asking them to simplify the entire buying cycle of the customer by creating a solution that would enable the customer to buy the right product instead of settling for the cheapest variant.
Since, this was a team challenge; Tech Challenge 3.0 ensured that the team formation was done with experts from varied fields so that the solution that the team presented had a holistic approach that has the potential to be deployed in real enterprise environment with some variation. Each member of the winning team of five aptly called InbuiltMinds aced varied IT challenges such as Data Integration, Coding, Hybris, Data Science and Pega to clear level 2 of the Tech Challenge 3.0 to secure a coveted place in the finale.
Tech Challenge 3.0 invited the best programmers in India to participate in a Coding Challenge and a Skill Challenge in various niche technology themes such as Digital, Insights & Data (I&D), Infrastructure Services, and Financial Services (FS). The Digital challenges included Pega, Hybris, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), and Salesforce. The FS challenge comprised Blockchain while the I&D challenge hosted Data Integration and Data Science. Scientifically designed to identify the best, each challenge was divided into three levels with increasing complexity with Level 3 being the final challenge.
Ashwin Yardi, COO, Capgemini India said, “We conceptualised Tech Challenge as a platform that would stimulate ideation, creativity and innovation for the best IT talent in India.
