Samsung Z came as a first Tizen based smartphone, which was unveiled in June but missed its appearance in an occasion detained in Russia. Samsung hasn’t provided any shipment date thus far. This comes after recurring delays by Samsung regarding Tizen based handset.
After some reports from Wall Street Journal, the launch of Samsung Z was supposed to take place in Russia after Samsung indicated its launch in third quarter. The launch stood cancelled as Russian carriers spoken their anxiety on lack of apps for the platform. According to the journal, only half of the 300 seats were overflowing to hear speakers including Samsung supervisory Dmitry Anosov.

According to the journal, only half of the 300 seats were filled to hear speakers including Samsung executive Dmitry Anosov.
“The most obvious advantage of developing a Tizen phone is that you’ll be at the top in a half empty store on a decent premium device”, said Anosov. A few developers, present at the event,were not ready to give up on the device but lacked any information on Samsung Z. Unlike the Firefox OS devices, which targeted budget buyers, Samsung Z is a mid to high end phone. The high end users will have access to the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 system on chip along with four Krait 400 core clocked at 2.3 GHz. The decision of 12 cm(4.8 inches) is limited as compared to the existing offerings in the market. At 1280×720 pixels, it sports fingerprint sensor. Other specs includes a 2GB RAM with 16GB of flash memory and 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera. Sensors and wireless radio are icing on the cake but we are not sure till when it will get parched!
Last year, Samsung admitted the long delays to the much-hyped Tizen device. Many carriers stepped back from the launch event, which additional dampened the spirit of South Korean giant.
Samsung got a chance in June to finally publicize the phone but it backfired. past this week, the Korean consumer electronic giant unveiled second quarter financial fallout which fell $1.4 Billion short of expected results. Slow smartphone market in China twisted out to be a culprit.
This news comes after Samsung’s release of an Android based smartwatch, Samsung Gear Live, soon after its release of Tizen based watches, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo.
