The most recent WhatsApp beta version introduces a feature for scheduling group calls

WhatsApp, the widely used messaging app under the ownership of Meta, is making significant strides in its updates, unveiling new and exciting features. One notable development is its pursuit of a more uniform user experience across both iOS and Android platforms.

The latest update, labeled version 2.23.17.7, is currently being introduced to beta testers through the Google Play Beta Program. The standout feature within this update is the introduction of the capability to schedule group calls. This addition serves to streamline the process of organizing and coordinating group calls, eradicating the necessity for prolonged message exchanges in order to find a suitable timing.

With the incorporation of the scheduled group call feature, users can initiate a call within their group chats while specifying the call subject, date, and call type (whether it is a video or voice call). Consequently, an event is automatically generated within the group chat, and participants receive a notification 15 minutes prior to the designated call time. This arrangement ensures that all participants are adequately prepared and available, thereby reducing the likelihood of missed or delayed calls.

As of now, the scheduled group call feature is exclusively accessible to a limited group of beta testers who have successfully installed the most recent WhatsApp beta update via the Google Play Store. The company intends to progressively expand the availability of this feature to a broader user base in the near future.

Beyond the introduction of the scheduling feature, WhatsApp is also introducing a multi-account option for beta testers, allowing them to proficiently manage multiple accounts directly within the app. Furthermore, the app is diligently working to enhance its security measures by linking user accounts to their respective email addresses.
