A name synonymous with excellence in the Indian technology distribution landscape, was born out of a simple yet powerful vision — to bridge the gap between global technology and the Indian market. As shared by Director Himanshu Jain in a candid conversation with Vighnesh, Head of Digital Media at IT Voice, the roots of Acro trace back to a retail outlet called SMC International in Nehru Place, a vibrant IT hub that still thrives today. Returning from the US without a clear path, Himanshu decided to explore the computer business, leveraging their family-owned commercial spaces. This small venture soon turned into a larger mission when he identified the limited access Indian consumers had to global tech brands. That realization led to the strategic decision of moving into distribution, thus giving birth to Acro Engineering Company.Today,
Acro Engineering stands tall as a national distributor of over 25 global brands. The company operates across several verticals — from gaming peripherals under its in-house brand ANT Esports, to lifestyle products like smart scales and trimmers, and even pet care and high-street fashion. Acro is a robust family-run enterprise employing over 2,500 people across 19 branches in India. These branches are segmented into B2B reseller business, e-commerce & quick commerce, and corporate & enterprise sales. Their expansive portfolio is a direct response to India’s growing appetite for innovative, high-quality technology solutions.Looking ahead to 2025, Himanshu shared ambitious yet grounded goals. A major focus lies in expanding their ‘Make in India’ initiative — particularly in enhancing the portfolio of B2C lifestyle and gaming products, increasing their market share in gaming peripherals, and pushing forward with smart gadgets and wellness tech. A key milestone is the establishment of India’s
First PSU (Power Supply Unit) manufacturing plant, with most components being made locally. Collaborating with government departments, Acro aims to supply Made-in-India power solutions to top PC brands, thereby creating jobs and reducing dependency on imports.Customer experience is another critical area of focus. Acro is determined to improve its service networks and provide a seamless experience for both B2B and B2C customers, especially as they expand into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. On the topic of artificial intelligence, Himanshu acknowledges it as the most significant technological shift of our time — one that’s just getting started. Through collaborations with giants like NVIDIA, AMD, and Razer, Acro has seen firsthand how AI is transforming gaming, data centers, and automation. While AI may displace certain jobs, Himanshu believes it has the power to create more opportunities if used wisely. The key lies in how businesses adapt and innovate.
One of Acro’s proudest achievements is the creation of its in-house gaming brand, ANT Esports. This initiative was born from customer feedback — the need for high-quality yet affordable gaming products in India. Rather than compromise on quality, Acro built a brand from scratch focused on performance, customization for Indian gamers, and durability. The name “ANT Esports” reflects the brand’s values: teamwork, strength in small units, and resilience — much like ants in the natural world.Acro’s PSU factory also deserves special mention. As the first PSU manufacturing facility in India, it boasts rigorous testing protocols — including burn tests, stress tests, and vibration tests — and uses Japanese capacitors for enhanced reliability. With a failure rate of just 0.05%, the facility sets a new benchmark in quality and innovation. Importantly, Acro is the only brand offering BIS-approved power cables within PSU boxes — a testament to its quality-first approach. For aspiring entrepreneurs and newcomers to the IT industry, Himanshu Jain’s message is inspiring: The Indian tech industry is still in its early stages, and the digital revolution is just beginning. With innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction as guiding principles, there’s immense room for growth. He emphasizes that price wars are fleeting, but delivering true value through exceptional products and experiences is what builds lasting success.
