Tinder has unveiled a new subscription offering called “Tinder Select,” which is an exclusive invite-only membership available to less than 1% of users.
Applicants accepted into this premium tier can access exclusive benefits for a monthly fee of $499.
This marks Tinder’s fourth paid subscription tier, joining Tinder+, Tinder Gold, and Tinder Platinum.
The introduction of Tinder Select is expected to have a limited number of subscribers but is projected to significantly impact revenue per user.
Some perks of a Tinder Select membership include direct messaging without matching first, an unblurred and prioritized profile photo, a special badge, “Select Mode” for connecting with sought-after profiles, early access to new features, and the ability to hide ads and see recent likes.
The move comes as Tinder aims to boost its revenue and make changes to its pricing and marketing strategy.
Other dating apps under the Match Group umbrella, like Hinge, have also introduced higher-priced subscription tiers in recent months.
Additionally, various apps and streaming services, including Spotify and Amazon Prime Video, have raised prices or plan to do so in the near future.
