Motorola seems to be in full revival form and has set some serious competition for the biggest players in the smartphone industry. If we talk about Motorola and its performance in India, we primarily never saw it as a serious device maker but its sales through online partner, Flipkart have proved to be phenomenal! The “Apple of China”, Xiaomi along with Asus has set market on fire with the price range. On the other hand, LG is bit delayed but launched its flagship device here.
The month of July saw a lot of action in the Indian smartphone market. A host of high-end and mid-range smartphones were launched by different OEMs. Have a look at the top smartphones launched in July 2014!
1. LG G3
Following the trend, LG launched a finest range model at $800 which offers rock solid features with good design and quality, which makes it highly desirable. The 2K display appears to be overestimated but gets excellent camera and 4G support. The 16GB model is priced for almost $800 and 32GB model for $849. You can save up to $17, if you buy it through online channels. The G3 launch includes $83.25 discount on LG’s wearable device.
2. Xiaomi Mi 3
Xiaomi made a grand entry in Indian market with Mi 3 this month. The first batch was sold within an hour of launch! It can be one of the best selling device as per its current performance and has ability to go head to head with other finest devices. At meagre sum of $233.08, it has Snapdragon 800 and competes with Nexus, Galaxy S4, in terms of looks and priced at just half of these devices. The quad core processor runs at 2.3 GHz and chipset of Adreno 330 GPU. RAM is of 2GB and has custom MiUI OS. Camera is of 13 MP and 2 MP selfie camera. Battery is capable of 3,050 mAh and comes with LED flash.
3. Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Red Note
Along with Mi 3, Redmi 1S is low end entry level phone priced at $116.53 and somewhat expensive phablet model Note at $166.48. Redmi sports an 11.93 cm (4.7-inches) screen with 720p IPS display, 1.6GHz Qualcomm snapdragon 400 quad core processor with 1GB RAM, 16GB flash memory, MicroSD slot and 2000mAh battery. It runs on JellyBean 4.3 and MiUI layer. Camera stands at 8MP and front camera at 1.6MP. The Note on the other hand has 5.5Inch(13.97Cm) screen with 720p display and 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor. It also has 8GB storage extended with MicroSD slot up to 32GB with 3MP front and 5MP rear camera and has 3100 mAh battery.
4. Asus Zenfone series
Earlier this month, Asus came up with new series of smartphones. It varies in screen size from 4, 4.5 and 6 inches. The leader in Asus is 6 inch(15.24Cm) which runs on 2GHz intel Atom dual core processor which it claims is faster than quad core cortex A7 class ARM processor and has decent 1280X720 Pixel IPS display. Rear camera of 13MP and 2MP selfie camera makes it premium device. It comes in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB variants, expandable up to 64GB.
Other model between 6 and 4 is a dual sim Zenfone 5 which has 5 inches(12.7Cm) screen and has 1280X720 Pixel IPS display and has 8MP camera and 2MP front camera. It has 2GHz intel Atom dual core processor and available in 8GB and 16Gb variants, extendible through MicroSD card.
