TP-LINK announced that the company lead consumer global WLAN market share in Q2 2014, according to the most recent research published by leading IT market research and advisory firm IDC, which ranked the world’s wireless networking equipment vendors by product shipments and revenues.
The IDC Worldwide Quarterly WLAN Tracker – Q2 2014 Final Release – indicates that TP-LINK dominates its marketplace in market share (measured by units shipped):
- TP-LINK ranks number one globally at 49.25% market share
- The closest competitor has a 9.29% market share
- The top three competitors combined have a 20.66% market share
TP-LINK continues to lead each quarter in consumer world wide WLAN shipments for the past three and a half years, according to published IDC Worldwide Quarterly WLAN Tracker reports. In 2014 alone, TP-LINK’s market share in Q1 2014 and Q2 2014 grew from 38.27% to 49.25%, respectively. This represents a substantial gain of 10.98%.
“We are pleased that IDC recognizes TP-LINK’s number one position in the consumer WLAN market,” says Andy Chen, Director of International Business at TP-LINK. “Our growth reflects a commitment to our many customers, partners, and ongoing dedication to research and development.”
Andy Chen adds, “Our quality control is unprecedented. Before a new product is shipped, it gets tested in 7,000 unique scenarios, and it only takes one failed test to start the entire process all over again.”
