IT Voice News: Microsoft and Truecaller announced their new partnership as the latest version of the app (v4.2) will be exclusively available on Windows 8.1 based Lumia device only. This new update offers Live caller ID information.
As per the company, this feature will allow users see information of the caller during an incoming call even if the contact is not there in the device phonebook. Earlier the information was showed after the call ended only. Founded in 2009, Truecaller is a cross-platform call and contact management service which has a database of more than 85 million users globally.
Apart from providing information, Truecaller also allows blocking unwanted calls on your phone. Truecaller was already available on Windows phones but its caller ID functionality was limited to missed calls. Now It will work just like Android and iOS versions. Microsoft says the new Lumia devices will come preloaded with this updated feature but the existing Lumia users can install 4.2 update from Windows Phone Store. The new update has been made available from 16 October, Thursday.
