The Twitter app for the Android operating system has finally been unveiled by the social networking giant. According to reports, the app will come pre-loaded in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) tablet. The tablet has reportedly gone on sale since yesterday (10 October). Although the Twitter app will be available in more tablet devices by the end of the year, the company hasn’t talked about its plans for a release on the Google Play Store yet.
The tablet optimised app for Twitter reportedly presents the social network in a landscape view. It fills the user’s screen with accounts to follow, trends, conversations and tweets. Further, users can view pictures, videos and previews of articles by simply tapping on a tweet.
Reports say that Twitter has worked with Samsung in order to optimise the app to support the S-Pen and multi-window features, which are seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and some other Samsung devices. A blog post by Twitter said, “You can now use Twitter as your canvas to create and tweet colorful illustrations, or you can also draw directly on photos from your photo gallery and share them. The ability to doodle also works with the S-Pen, which is available on the Galaxy Note 10.1-2014 Edition.”
Lastly, the micro-blogging giant has reportedly come up with a widget for the app. Through this, users can be tweets, videos, photos and even breaking news, music etc. from their particular countries.
