Twitter is reportedly considering implementing a limit on the number of direct messages (DMs) non-paid users can send per day.
Screenshots shared by a Twitter user named Alessandro Paluzzi suggest that non-Blue users will receive a message notifying them of reaching their DM limit and encouraging them to sign up for Twitter Blue to continue messaging.
Currently, non-paid users can send up to 500 DMs per day, but the limit may be reduced with the introduction of this rumored rule.
Additionally, Twitter’s ex-CEO, Elon Musk, hinted at an upcoming update that would restrict DMs to Blue users only for those who don’t follow them. In other news, Twitter’s new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, has sent her first email to employees, highlighting her focus on rebuilding the company’s ads business, which has been impacted since Musk took over.
Musk will continue to oversee product and engineering teams while Yaccarino takes charge of other departments.
