UC Browser, the popular mobile Internet browser by UCWeb, now has a PC version too – specifically, for Windows. On Wednesday, the company released its first public beta of UC Browser for desktop.
The UC Browser for PC (beta) comes in two versions – a general version and an Indian version. The Indian version of UC Browser is claimed to have been designed especially for India, and also comes preloaded with the UC-Cricket add-on for cricket updates. The application can be downloaded from company’s official website.
“In a recent survey of our mobile browser users, we found out that many of them who use a PC everyday are looking for a seamless cross-platform browsing experience on both mobile and desktop front,” said Jerry Wen, Head of the initiative at UCWeb.
UC Browser for PC is equipped with Cloud Sync that will allow users to synchronise open tabs and bookmarks from UC Browser for mobile. It also includes high-speed downloads, with an option to pause/ resume downloads and a smart file manager that automatically categorises downloaded files by type. The browser also preloads photos and links beforehand for faster browsing, claims the company.
“Apart from that, many of them love the features we provide on our mobile browser, and would like to use them while on their desktop,” added Wen.
In February, UCWeb had introduced UC-Cricket integration in UC Browser for Android. The company calls it an all-in-one cricket application that includes live updates, results, upcoming match information along with a chat option for fans.
