Strength in global service delivery is key factor in strong showing among 23 providers assessed
Unisys Corporation today announced that it is positioned at the top of the “Major Contenders” category in the 2015 Everest Group report, “Workplace Services – PEAK Matrix™ Assessment and Profiles Compendium.”
The PEAK (Performance, Experience, Ability, Knowledge) Matrix report assesses the market success and service delivery capabilities of 23 leading providers of end-user and related IT services, such as service desk, desk-side support, desktop management and virtualization, and mobility.
Unisys attained the premier position among the 12 global and regional service providers the report designates as Major Contenders by showing a superior combination of market success and workplace services delivery capability. In addition, Unisys ranked third among all 23 providers in delivery capability, which assesses scope, domain expertise, delivery footprint and buyer satisfaction. Unisys has three ISO certified centers in India delivering End User Workplace Services via 1,500 employees, who manage nearly 50 percent of all end point devices and 30 percent of all servers supported globally by Unisys.
The Everest Group report defines Major Contenders as providers who “are making continued investments in developing internal IP and tools, as well as expanding their service and technology partnership networks in order to plug their ‘capability gaps’, and, thereby, offer workplace services that are more comprehensive and global in coverage.”
Noting that Unisys provides service desk services for 1.1 million users and desk-side support for 900,000 more, the report cites the company’s particular strengths:
- “Balanced focus across workplace services segments, backed by a strong legacy in the end-user services space; service desk and desk-side support business continues to witness strong traction, especially among SMBs [small and medium businesses].
- “Conscious focus/investments for strengthening global delivery capabilities and offering industrialized solutions for targeting large enterprises that demand global coverage.”
“Unisys is able to provide cost-effective solutions for workplace services and also create a business impact on client operations,” said Chirajeet Sengupta, vice president, IT Services Research, Everest Group. “With a strong focus on persona-based services and omni-channel support, Unisys has been able to attain a Major Contender position in our research. Clients value its ability to showcase self-help and workplace analytics solutions to reduce costs across geographies and deliver innovative solutions.”
Unisys operates a global network of client service and support centers that are certified to ISO standards for service management, service quality and information security. Unisys service professionals use a globally integrated service delivery platform that implements best practices from the established Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) frameworks. That standards-based global network enables Unisys to provide clients with globally consistent service and support.
“We are proud of the recognition Unisys has achieved in this prestigious Everest Group report,” said Neil Gissler, senior vice president, Services, Unisys. “We will continue to deliver increasingly innovative, personalized end-user services with the goal of entering and dominating the Leaders segment in future Everest Group Workplace Services PEAK Matrix Assessments.”
