UPI and PhonePe Face Major Outage, Users Struggle with Payments

Millions of users across India faced disruptions today as UPI and PhonePe experienced a significant outage, preventing digital transactions for several hours. The unexpected downtime affected consumers and businesses alike, especially during peak hours, causing widespread inconvenience.

PhonePe, one of India’s most popular UPI-based payment apps, acknowledged the issue on social media, assuring users that they were working to restore services. While the exact cause of the outage remains unclear, initial reports suggest it was due to server-side technical glitches.
