Vaio C15 ‘Fashionable Laptops’ Series Unveiled

Vaio has introduced a new line of laptopsin Japan. The main selling point of the laptops appears to be the Vaiocolourful range they come in. On specifications front, the laptops fall under the mid-range section. Vaio’s C15 range of ‘fashionable laptops’ are available at a base price of JPY 66,800 from Sony stores in Japan. In other stores the laptop will be sold at a higher price of JPY 94,800.

The Vaio C15 laptop comes in four colour combinations — White and Copper, Navy and Grey, Yellow and Black and Orange and Khaki.

The base laptop model features 15.5-inch display with 1366×768 pixels resolution display. Under-the-hood, the laptop packs Intel Celeron 321U processor, clubbed with 4GB RAM.

According to The Verge website, users also have the option to upgrade the Navy-Grey and White-Copper colour laptops to full-HD resolution display, 8GB RAM, and Intel Core i3 processor. The firm has not yet revealed the pricing and availability of these laptops outside its home country.

Earlier this year, the Japanese company launched its first MasterWindows 10 smartphone ‘Vaio Phone Biz’. The USP of the device is that it promises to deliver a PC-like experience with the help of Continuum for Phones when connected to an external monitor.

VAIO Phone Biz flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD display and runs on Windows 10 mobile OS. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm 617 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM. It also houses 2,800 mAh battery and 13MP rear camera.

In 2014, Vaio PC business parted ways with Sony, after it sold the business to private equity firm Japan Industrial Partners.
