Days after Bharti Airtel Ltd. launched its IoT platform focused on enterprises, Vodafone Idea Ltd (VIL) has followed suit and launched its Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. This will help the enterprises in the digitalization process of their businesses.

What is the Internet of Things (IoT)?

In simplest words, it could be described as the network of physical objects (things) installed with the software, sensors, etc to collect and exchange data with other systems and devices over the internet. Wearable health monitors, smart devices, home security systems, etc are some of the examples of IoT. Technology is growing rapidly in the world as well as in India and the tech giants want to mark their presence in the growing market.

The pandemic has played as a catalyst for the growth of digital services. The companies are in more need than ever to transform their businesses adapting to the market dynamics and demands.

The third-largest Telco in India will work on the consulting-based model helping businesses in the identification of needs, designs, and customizing the IoT.

Representatives of Idea (Birla Group Company) said, “It will also provide them with a tailored solution to be integrated with the best-in-class enterprise-grade IoT framework.” It also mentioned, “Vodafone-Idea IoT is transforming the way businesses operate by reinventing processes, operations, customer experiences and developing newer business models and revenue opportunities.”

Airtel has already tied up with organizations like Paytm, BSES, Kent, and Pine Labs for its integrated IoT solutions. On the other hand, Vodafone Idea has tied up with 20 partners for providing the company’s Internet of Things solutions.

VIL will use its 5G-ready network to provide IoT solutions to organizations for mobility, infrastructure, and utility. It is expected that the company will increase the categories in the coming days.
