Videocon And Microsoft Launch World’s First Windows 10 Powered TV In India

Videocon launched its Windows 10 powered LED TV, in videocon logopartnership with Microsoft. The TV, starting at Rs 39,990, can also work as a personal computer, as it houses full HD display, 2GB RAM, in-build Wi-Fi and 16 GB of internal storage.

The company is trying to give its customers, easy access to technology at their convenience and therefore designed the world’s first hybrid TV cum PC,” said Akshay Dhoot Head of Technology and Innovation.

The company expects to have at least 5 per cent sales of H2 period coming from the Windows operated TV. It also expects three per cent from the Android operating sets.

Right now, company has launched only 32 and 40 inch as they are popular in the consumer segment. Depending on the feed from the market, Videocon would launch 55, 65 and 24 inches also.

After getting the response from the market, the company would launch the larger screen sizes of 55 and 65 inches along with one small size of 24 inches.

Videocon, which has a network of around 55,000 point of sales, has priced 40 inch and 32 inch Windows operated panels at Rs 52,990 and Rs 39,990, respectively.

Windows 10 has received good response from customers all over the world with over 110 million downloads, said Microsoft Director (Windows Business Group) Vineet Durani.
