The onset of festive season has started on a positive note. The rupee stabilizing and the oil prices being slashed will lead to an increase in demand during the season. Videocon also has big plans this season. Videocon is aiming for a double digit growth with a blend of new product launches and consumer offers.
Videocon witnessed a positive response from the market as the festive season sets in, garnering a growth of 15% over the last year during the Onam season in Kerala whereas Ganesh Chaturthi witnessed a growth of 20% in Maharashtra. It comes as a huge boost as the market was stagnant for most part of the year on account of devaluation of Rupee and rising oil prices. In spite of the slowdown in the economy, sales figures during Onam followed by Ganesh Chaturthi have been extremely positive for Videocon. The positive trend is expected to transcend beyond the Diwali season to Bhaiya Dooj, Christmas and New Year.
On this occasion, Mr. Anirudh Dhoot, Director Videocon commented “At Videocon, we focus on indigenization. We are in a continuous process of value engineering and coming up with products which are technically superior and delights our customers. Deriving optimism from the stabilizing rupee, the overall market sentiments looks very positive. Videocon is aiming at a double digit growth by launching attractive consumer schemes and launching new products.
Videocon’s sales are primarily contributed by high end FPDs, side by side refrigerators and fully automatic Washing Machines. DDB TVs have received a great response across the country and have become a benchmark in TV technology. Apart from televisions, our washing machines continue to rule the market with its first in class “Aero Wash” technology.
Following the great success of DDB TVs, Videocon plans to launch DDB 4K Ultra HDTV this season. With the new products lined up for launch, Videocon is also focusing on consumer schemes this season to boost sales.
